Ferne Arsenault, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Ferne Arsenault was born in England and spent much of her childhood as part of a military family before moving to Williston, Vermont in 2005 when her father retired from service. She earned her pre-veterinary degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2017.

Combining her love of travel and animals, Dr. Ferne completed two externships during her studies—one with Vets in the Wild in South Africa and another with Hope for Wildlife in Nova Scotia, Canada. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts in 2022, finishing her clinical year at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.

After graduation, Dr. Arsenault returned to Vermont to begin her veterinary career. She shares her home with three beloved rescue dogs—Atticus, Wren, and Blu, one of whom she rescued while living on St. Kitts. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and camping with her dogs, working out, and cooking.

Jade Xiong, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Jade Xiong joined the Mountain View Animal Hospital team in November 2025. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, Massachusetts.

Her passion for veterinary medicine began early, with hands-on experience as an Adoption Counselor at the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, followed by several years as a Veterinary Assistant in Northampton and Williamsburg, Massachusetts. While studying at Tufts, Dr. Xiong worked on the Large Animal Tech Team at the Hospital for Large Animals and served as a student coordinator for community outreach clinics in Worcester. Before joining Mountain View, she practiced small animal medicine throughout Western Massachusetts for seven years.

Dr. Xiong finds the most rewarding part of her career to be working closely with pet parents and her veterinary team to improve the health and quality of life of animals. She has a special love for surgery and dentistry and is proud to be a Fear Free Certified Practitioner.

Outside of work, Dr. Xiong enjoys spending time outdoors—riding her bike, hiking, camping, and taking road trips with her family. She shares her home with three beloved dogs: HotWheels, Marigold, and Marcy.
